Bethany moved to New York City in 2006 after graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor degree in Fashion Design + Merchandising. She started her career with an internship at Body Wrappers, a ballet + cheerleading fashion house, where she quickly became Assistant to the Head Designer. While there, she gained extensive experience in production as well as promotion, styling fashion shoots and working with premier NYC ballerinas. Bethany enjoyed her fashion industry experience but yearned for a career change focusing on women’s health. She first became a Birth Doula, trained and certified by DONA International, successfully combining her love of yoga + holistic remedies to prepare, support and guide women through the birth experience. While honored to have shared in many successful births, Bethany determined that she needed additional education in support of her career interests in women’s health. She attended Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing and became an RN with an OB/GYN focus. When Jennifer brought the Lucky Honey idea to Bethany, not only did she see a better studio sock, but also a hospital bag essential for the expectant mother. Together, as sisters they have combined their passions, creativity and style to create the perfect grip sock that is sexy + unique. Bethany resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Matthew, son Souther and doggie Ernest. She is an OB/GYN triage RN at Weill Cornell, a yoga + barre enthusiast and a busy new mama. Here are some of her favorite things…
Favorite Workout: Yoga/Barre + Stroller walk/run with Souther
Favorite Studios: Cyc, Modo Yoga Williamsburg, SLT, Pure Barre, + Barry’s Bootcamp
Favorite Lunch spot: Buvette . . . beautiful, quaint, and a most delicious Croque Monsieur
Favorite day: Waking up to the sound of my son Souther making noises or sometimes screaming, then snuggling in bed with my family + drinking a double espresso in bed! Heading to Equinox to have my time for a workout & steam; I am obsessed with spraying Eucalyptus water on my body while in the steam room; it gives me a much needed energy boost for the day. Going for a walk with my husband, son + Ernie along the Brooklyn Bridge Park, getting lunch + meeting up for a family day with Jenn, Mac + Peanut. A couple glasses of wine at the end of day with my crew completes my perfect day.
